This is a great option for people who are looking for a truly authentic rural Cambodian experience. Kampong Kleang is the largest and most impressive floating village in this part of Cambodia but due to the distance involved (between 1 and 1.5 hours’ drive from Siem Reap), relatively few tourists come in comparison to the other villages on the Tonle Sap.

St 63 Homestay offers accommodation in a stilted house in a great location, the terrace where meals are served offers fantastic views and a chance to see a stunning sunrise or sunset.

In traditional Cambodian style, the house comprises of only one room so the sleeping is communal style. Some of the beds are suspended from the roof by rope, the matrices are thick and comfortable. Toilets and showers have been added.

The friendly and accommodating family who will be your hosts offer tasty home cooking including a 4-course meal that includes fish caught by the local fisherman, soup and fresh fruit for dessert all for $8 with some of the profits going to local educational initiatives.
