With rooms under $20 a night, the Bou Savy Guesthouse is a good budget hotel option only a 5 minute tuk-tuk ride from the centre of town.

Located down a short dirt track off the side of Road 6 in Taphul village, the hotel is owned and run by a Khmer family who offer good traditional Cambodian hospitality. Facilities include a small pool with sun loungers and a restaurant with a basic Cambodian menu, meals are around the $3 mark and while you are staying, if you buy anything at the restaurant they will add it to your check out bill for convenience.

The 30 rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and include air conditioning and a TV as well as complimentary bottled water and tea and coffee making facilities. If this is not enough they also offer free airport / bus station pick up and 1 free dinner if you book more than 2 nights.

Bou Savy Guesthouse has become one of the most popular budget guesthouses in town for a range of different types of travellers including families on a budget, solo travelers and long term volunteers who are staying in town a bit longer. At peak times it does fill up so advanced booking is recommended.
