One of the longest running guesthouses in Siem Reap, the Ivy Guesthouse is famous more for its excellent food than its budget rooms. Set in a large Khmer villa, the restaurant is located in a large, leafy courtyard in front.
The menu is varied and extensive and there is a lot on offer for vegetarians including veggie burgers, veggie burritos and some interesting salad options. There are some great meat options too, including a tasty beef burger with blue cheese. Most meals here are round about the $5 mark.
Thursday night is quiz night, billed as the easiest pub quiz in the world. The proceeds from the $1 entrance fee go to charity. Various food and drink based prizes are up for grabs and there's also 25% off food during the quiz.
By far the most popular night is Fridays, when a tapas menu is offered. All items are just $1.25! This is a great way to sample various options from the full menu.
The rooms offered are basic but if you are looking for a cheep room in a lively place, only a few minutes walk from the center of town then this could be a good option.
